Wireless Microphone 32-bit Floating-Point Internal Recording: Boundaries with Camera Audio Input

Explain that the 32-bit float of DJI Mic 2 / Mic 3 belongs to internal recording within the transmitter, and explain the camera-simulated output of DJI Mic 2 and its gain settings related to the camera model; use the Zoom F6 as an example of model-level dual ADC, without generalizing the implementation to all devices. Remove conclusions that are not source-verified, such as IEEE dynamic range, dual ADC in all devices, never clipping, no need to adjust gain, and post-processing recovery of damaged waveforms.

First distinguish between internal recording and audio sent to the camera

32-bit float should not be considered a mode shared by all microphones and cameras. DJI's materials label the 32-bit float of the DJI Mic 2 / Mic 3 as a transmitter internal recording feature and specify that this feature is only for internal recording. The files recorded into the transmitter and the audio sent from the receiver to the camera should be checked separately according to the two recording paths. [G-32F-CAM-01]

Enable 32-bit float internal recording on DJI Mic 2

On the main interface of the DJI Mic 2 receiver, pull down, enter TX Settings, and select 32-bit float. This option enables the internal recording function; do not assume that the audio on the camera card is also written in 32-bit float. [G-32F-CAM-02]

Camera input still requires separate connection and gain setting

When the DJI Mic 2 receiver's OUT port is connected to the camera’s microphone input via the camera cable, it outputs an analog signal. DJI's camera gain guide lists recommended values by brand and model; if the camera is not on the recommended list, DJI suggests choosing None and adjusting the receiver gain based on monitoring results. The transmitter's internal recording settings do not replace the camera input connection, gain setting, or monitoring. [G-32F-CAM-03, G-32F-CAM-04]

Dual ADC is a specific product implementation, not a general premise

The official materials of Zoom F6 explicitly mention dual A/D converters alongside the device's 32-bit float recording. This can only serve as an example of the F6 model-level implementation; it cannot be used to infer that all wireless microphones use dual ADCs. For DJI Mic 2 / Mic 3, this article only uses DJI-published functions and operational information, without inferring their internal circuit structure. [G-32F-CAM-05]
