Sony α6700 / ILCE-6700 Creators’ App Pairing, Wi-Fi Connection, and Photo Transfer Guide
Explain the steps of pairing with the Creators’ App, Wi-Fi connection, and selecting images on the camera to transfer to a phone according to the official Sony α6700 / ILCE-6700 Help Guide; do not promote to other Alpha models, and do not claim successful testing on specific phones.
Scope and first pairing
This article only applies to α6700/ILCE-6700. On the camera, select MENU → Network → Cnct./PC Remote → Smartphone Connection, follow the on-screen guidance to set Bluetooth Function to On; launch Creators’ App and follow the phone interface to complete pairing. [G-SC-01, G-SC-02, G-SC-03]
Connect via Wi-Fi access point
After completing the pairing, you can turn on Wi-Fi from the camera Network → Wi-Fi → Wi-Fi Connect → On, and then follow the prompts to connect the camera and mobile phone to the same Wi-Fi access point. 〔G-SC-04〕
Wi-Fi connection without pairing
The camera enters the Smartphone Connection screen and switches to the SSID/password display; enter the password in the phone’s Wi-Fi settings, then select Connect only via Wi-Fi in the Cameras settings of the Creators’ App and select ILCE-6700. This route requires re-running Wi-Fi every time you connect. Sony recommends using an access point with WPA3 or WPA2 security settings. 〔G-SC-05〕
Select photos from camera and send to phone
First complete the pairing of the camera and mobile phone. Display the target photo on the camera playback screen, enter Network → Cnct./PC Remote → Select on Cam & Send → Send → This Image; you can also use the Send to Smartphone button on the body to open the sending page. Launch the Creators’ App on your phone and select OK when the transfer prompt appears on your phone. To send multiple images, select an option other than This Image in Send; you can set the Original or 2M image size. 〔G-SC-06, G-SC-07〕
Usage boundaries of connection mode
Sony Help Guide points out that Smartphone Connection cannot be executed when Airplane Mode is set to On; Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi share the same frequency band. If the Wi-Fi connection is unstable, turning off Bluetooth on your phone may improve the connection. This suggestion only describes possible improvements suggested by the manual and does not guarantee fixing specific network environments. This article records the document steps, which does not mean that any mobile phone has successfully tested the transmission; some transmission status displays have different camera system software version conditions. 〔G-SC-08〕
